OOTD: Turtle shirt, we're so happy together!
Dress: Indian Imports (local)
Shirt: Vendor fair in Oregon
Cardigan: Torrid
Tights: Cuddlduds
Boots: Payless
I bought this tank top during my trip to Oregon back in late 2012. It's one of the few souvenirs I picked up, and I've hardly worn it because the racer back style is awfully revealing. Little did I know at the time that it would look wonderful when layered over dresses and other shirts, which brings me to present day, when I eventually figured that out.

While in Oregon, I had so much free time at my disposal that I randomly chose to study turtles and tortoises. Before that point, I only knew vaguely what the differences were, but after reading some information about them I found out just how different they really are.
For example, a turtle has a flat and thinner shell for aide in its water-dwelling lifestyle, while a tortoise has a large, thick, dome-shaped shell to help protect itself against possible land predators. Tortoises also live, on average, much longer than a turtle. 150 years is considered to be a very old age for a tortoise.

As for me, I am fine at keeping my love for turtles and tortoises at the t-shirt bearing level. I fantasized about having one as a pet for a brief time, but I know it wouldn't be a right fit in the long run. I'm still having cat withdrawal symptoms that need to be taken care of first and foremost.
I love that you actually included some info about the critters! Yay turtles (and tortoises)!
ReplyDeleteI almost wrote a self-study paper about turtles, but then I was bit by the Harvest Moon bug.
DeleteI love this outfit! So much purple!!!
ReplyDelete:)
You know, I was actually worried that it might be too much purple... but then I realized that there can never be enough purple.
DeleteThis outfit is so cute! I particularly love those boots. I used to have pet turtles as a kid. I loved them, but at some point they started to hate each other. It was not a good situation!

Oh no! I wonder what turtles do when they hate each other?
DeleteI really like these boots, too! They are very versatile.
Ahhh that tee-shirt is so adorable and it matches your hair beautifully! Also love a good turtle lesson, so thanks for that :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was worried about wearing too much purple, but then I realized that I didn't need to!
DeleteTurtle luv! From the title I was picturing a tmnt shirt which is a sure fire way to my heart but turtles are awesome. We had a box turtle as a pet and he was such a personalitly, he use to do dives off his log into the water to wake us up in the moring.(heh, his name was Speedy and he was pretty fast.). Anyways , turtles - awesome.
ReplyDeleteI would have never thought of a turtle named Speedy... I guess that's less common than naming your turtle Michelangelo? XD
DeleteWow, I didn't know a lot of that about turtles/tortoises! I love your shirt - great way to style it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sometimes it takes a while for me to realize these combinations in my closet. XD
DeleteThanks for answering my odd question! I'm still getting used to the feeling of having a hat on my head. I can't wear One Size hats since they are usually too small, but Men's hats fit just fine, haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog! In response to your question, my favorite Stephen King books would have to be Misery, Thinner, Pet Semetary, and Cujo. I never wanted to put them down!
ReplyDeleteYou should totally still feel special about the Pink Power Ranger ;)
