Style Inspiration: Alison Goldfrapp
I've been a big fan of the music duo Goldfrapp for just over a decade now! Every time they release a new album I am super excited because it's not just a band that I really love, it's also a band that changes up their musical style for almost every album. It's difficult to compare one to another due to this, as one album will be heavily influenced by electric pop, while another is more folksy and low-key. In early October their most recent album came out, and it's called Tales of Us. I feel in love with the first single "Drew" and really enjoy the rest of the album's ambience and sound. They chose to stray away from the heavy electronic sound for this album, and instead relied mostly on instrumentals and vocals, creating a familiar theatrical sound.
The vocal half of Goldfrapp, named Alison Goldfrapp (the band was named after her last name), has always struck me as having an excellent style that changes just as much as the sound of their albums do. Here are just a few examples of what she wears on stage.
