Doodle Friday! #1

After spending some time going through old sketchbooks recently, I'm going to start posting a past doodle or sketchbook drawing once a week. I plan on posting a good mix of old and new, as well as details on my thought process or the story behind each one. To me, doodle and drawing are kind of the same thing when it comes to the sketchbook, though the definition of doodle is to suggest something more absent-minded then how I perceive the process to be. It's more like a trial and error of finding things that work or don't work, and a playground on which to develop one's own personal style. I hope to improve my skills and there is no other way than putting my pencil (or pen) to the paper and just do it!

This doodle was started sometime in 2013, and bits and pieces were added to it over time. I was playing around with how lines can add shape and depth, and learning how to use my new micron pens!

    1. It took a while of adding on constantly, but it was worth it!

  3. I agree with you about "doddles" I've never been able to mindlessly sketch but it is an excallent way to try out different styles. It's delightful to see
More of your work, even your doddles have a sense of direction to them! You have a really beautiful linear style, your work is so smoorh and flowing.

    1. Thank you, Katie! There are a lot of other artists that have a similar style, and it's cool seeing all the things that people can do with just lines!
