What I've Been Listening To...

Usually when I listen to music, I end up repeating certain songs over and over and over again. I switch it up most of the time, but I've found that these songs are ones I've exhausted over the past couple of months.

1.) "(s)AINT" - Marilyn Manson
I used to listen to Marilyn Manson everyday when I was getting ready for school in the morning as a teenager. Almost a decade later, I decided to listen to the band again out of the blue, and oh man, did I ever fall back in love! Sometimes my heart just craves some metal, and this worked perfectly. While re-listening to the album Golden Age of Grotesque, I found out that I actually fancy this song quite a bit. I would love to do a cover of it on the guitar sometime! (WARNING: TOTALLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK, SCHOOL, OR IN YOUR FAMILY'S PRESENCE! ...unless they like this kind of thing, then you're in the green!)

2.) "A Poem for Byzantium" - Delerium
I re-discovered how amazing this song by Delerium while I was looking through music I hadn't heard in a while. Delerium is a great because their music sounds very mystical at times, but has this very upbeat feel in a way. It's difficult to explain unless you hear it. This song is one that I feel encompasses the kind of music that they make.

3.) "Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go" - Soft Cell
While browsing around on Spotify, I was going on an 80s music splurge and this song eventually came up. If you haven't heard the original version, it's sung by Gloria Jones. I also like the cover done by Marilyn Manson. There is something very soulful about the Soft Cell version that has me listening to it more, though.

4.) Bring The Noize" - M.I.A.
I became a fan of M.I.A. when my sister played the song Bad Girls during one of our car trips to the gym. I couldn't get the song out of my head, and it was then that I became a fan. I liked all of her other albums, and then I found out that her new one came out in late 2013. This song is the first single off of the album Matangi, and it's extremely heavy in beats and really showcases her rapping ability.

5.) "Drew" - Goldfrapp
Last summer I was super excited when I found out about Goldfrapp's new album that was set to release in October. I couldn't wait to see what kind of direction they would take with Tales Of Us, considering they tend to change up their musical style with every album. Drew is the first single released before the album came out, and I fell in love with it at first listen! I just love the entire feel of the song and the ambience of Alison's voice is absolutely dreamy.

I always love finding new music to listen to!
Are there any songs that you have been putting on repeat lately?
