Doodle Friday #5

Date: April 2004
Medium: Uniball Pen on Sketch paper

This was a quick sketch done of my surroundings during my three-week hospital stay when I was 15. I was bored, but knew how to fight boredom pretty well. I made all kinds of plans for myself, and withdrew into my own mind. I even re-read the first three Harry Potter books in less than three days. It was a strange time, but I made the most of it!

Looking at the date, I can't believe it was almost 10 years ago when I drew this! Time sure does go by fast, but at least there are traces of the past like this one still with me.

  1. Room sketches always fascinate me.

    1. This one was very sloppy, but who says room sketches don't have to be? XD

  2. Room sketches are really neat. I used to do them a lot when I was younger. Sadly I don't think I'd have the patience to do them now!

    1. Yeah, I feel like I have a lot less time as an adult (and it's true) to do stuff like that now. I definitely had a lot of time to kill then.

  3. I love this. I was also really good at escaping into my head as a kid/teen. It's much harder now, which I find really distressing.

    1. I agree - it seems too easy to be distracted by the daily hustle and bustle of life. I used to cover my ears with my headphones and delve into my own world for hours. I rarely do that anymore!
