Valentine's Day Nails

Posing with an empty bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale to demonstrate the pretty.

I decided to try something different and fun for my nails, as inspired by the approaching wonder of Valentine's Day. I get excited by this holiday for a few reasons. 1) It involves food. An excuse to gorge myself on good food and treats? Yes, please. 2) Um... more food? Seriously though, it's great because it inspires people to treat their loved one to nice things, whether that be a foot massage, a $5 milkshake in a diner, or a joke about ketchup. (Yes, I stole those references from Pulp Fiction.) Painting my nails feels like a very peacock thing to do. What do you think?

Nail stickers were bought on eBay here. If you want to see a hilarious video of how to use them, watch this video that Kaylah from The Dainty Squid and Elycia from Love Elycia did together a few years back.

Nail polishes in order of application, from left to right.

What the nail stickers look like up close.

You start out with some clean nails.

Poof! Red nail polish. That so didn't take 20 minutes to dry because I put it on too thick. Nope.

Applied the nail sticker on bone dry nail polish.

White tips! Do not apply as thick as I did... it took too long to dry.

Glitter + top coat and Bob's your uncle!

    1. They were this beautiful mystery that I didn't know until I got them in the mail. Then I was like, "OOOHHHHH" and the pieces fell into place, haha.

    1. You know, I still have a lot of trouble with painting my right hand, because I am right-handed. My hand just doesn't want to stay still for some reason.

  3. PHENOMENAL. I wish I was coordinated enough to do something like this!

    1. Thank you! Believe me, I'm shocked that I am even coordinated at all, lol. Behind the scenes is me cursing at my nail polish and redoing a nail or two.
